Authentic – Developing the Disciplines of a Sincere Faith - Church-Wide Bible Study
October 8-November 19

For seven upcoming Sundays, October 8–November 19, many in our Englewood Christian Church family will have the opportunity to join together for a Sunday School and morning worship focus called Authentic – Developing the Disciplines of a Sincere Faith.

This Bible study will be for those in the high school Sunday School class and all of the adult classes. There will be a portion of each week’s class time that will be video driven and feature the preaching and teaching of James MacDonald. For the remaining class time each week there will be discussion of the specific topic of the week. Then, the morning worship service sermons will correspond to the Bible study topic.

Here are the seven Bible topics that will be addressed in the Authentic study. Week #1 will present the problem of hypocrisy. Then, weeks #2 - #7 will offer Biblical insights into the spiritual disciplines that will enable us to be authentic instead of hypocritical in the living out of our Christian faith. The spiritual disciplines that will be studied will be personal Bible study, personal prayer, fasting, fellowship, service, and worship.

We hope that you will participate in this special study. And, bring someone with you as you come each week.

Earl and Ruth Anne Haubner have served as Christian Church missionaries in Brazil since 1969. Their ministry is based in the city of Goiânia, near the capital city of Brasilia where they have a very successful church planting and leadership training program. In 1995, their mission work expanded into the State of Amazonas, in the northern part of Brazil, and since the year 2000, they have taken more than 80 trips on the Amazon River to visit remote villages that are only accessible by boat.

The Moseley families had the privilege of traveling on the medical boat up the Amazon River with the Haubners this summer. They will be reporting on this exciting mission and on their trip. Please join us!
